Green Strategies
The Movement
The fundamental aim of Planet
Alert is to organise a Green Event. By this, we imply that in
our endeavor to spread awareness on global warming, we ourselves
will curtail resources and adopt those methodologies that do not
leave a negative impact to our environment. To fulfill our
commitment, we will focus on three major issues- garbage,
electricity and travel.
Concept:
Planet Alert has been
conceptualized to make people aware about the rising danger of
global warming in India and around the world. It has been divided
into a series of sub-modules, carrying out both awareness and
implementation activities. Through our efforts, we aim to reach
out to our potential audience, whilst still abiding by green event
guidelines.
Sponsors:
Planet Alert has been
supported and partnered by leading industry bodies, associations
and non-profit organizations. Each partner is sincerely dedicating
time, money and resources to making this movement a great success.
Many of our partners have already committed to environmental
responsibility and others have been inspired by the movement of
Planet Alert and have offered to lend their support. In return,
Planet Alert is also offering virtual as well as physical
publicity to the sponsors for lending their support. Our main
sponsors include:
Financial Sponsors
Supporting Associations
Event Managers
Media, Channels and Outdoor Partners
Hospitality Partners
Merchandise Partners
Security and Volunteers
Locations:
Planet Alert has chosen
locations that follow healthy environment practices. All our
venues i.e. Thakur Complex and Goregaon Sports Club for Go Green
Run and Andheri Sports Complex for Live Concert are open air
venues. As a result, we will be saving a lot of energy derived
from light bulbs and air-conditioners. Furthermore, the Go Green
Run is taking place in the morning and the Live Concert is
commencing post afternoon. As a result, Planet Alert is promoting
minimization of resources by using natural light as far as
possible. Even the lighting in the concert has been suited to have
maximum energy efficient LED bulbs.
Regular site inspections are being carried out by the organizers
and event managers to ensure that all green practices are adopted.
We will be implementing various methods to ensure the following:
Energy Conservation
Energy Efficient Lighting
Waste Management
Water Efficiency and Conservation
Post Consumer recycled Products
Printing Materials:
In order to reach our desired
target audience, it is essential that we carry out extensive
marketing strategies. Yet, it is important that we abide by the
green event guidelines. Most of our communications will be printed
on 100% post-consumer recycled paper. Furthermore, our aim is to
print materials using soy and corn based ink (even though it might
not be possible in all cases). For extensive outdoor printing, our
aim is to print on recycled and non-hazardous materials, non PVC
(vinyl). But, if PVC is used for printing, we will ensure that the
materials are further reused or recycled (certain materials can be
given to make bags or shelters).
Promotions:
Planet Alert will be promoted
through virtual and physical publicity. Our aim is to minimize the
amount of paper in our communications and deliver our message
electronically as far as possible. Our publicity includes:
Virtual Publicity:
GEC Networks
News and Entertainment Channels
Radio
Mobile/ WAP
Websites
Multiplexes and Theatres
SMS Campaigns
Emailers
Online Merchandising
Physical Publicity:
Outdoor Hoardings
Train Transfers
Bus Shelters/ Panels
Hang Out Joints
Music Stores
Malls
Merchandise
Brochures/ Flyers
Press Conference/ Kits
Concert:
The concert is going to be an
eco-friendly event. It is going to commence post-afternoon which
will save electricity and power. Also energy efficient LED bulbs
will be placed over luminous bulbs. Even the stage will be built
with recycled tyres, aluminum and bamboos. Those materials that
are non eco-friendly will either be recycled or reused. Also, we
will encourage audience to either walk, use public transport or
carpool to the concert.
